Red Skies and Purple Earth

We've got a REPUBLICAN president saying the Iraqis need more help, more troops, more money. We've got a DEMOCRATIC response to this saying, essentially, that it’s time for the Iraqis to take responsibility for themselves and that us continuing to support them with more troops and money sends the wrong message...

Does this strike ANYONE else as a parallel universe situation i.e. welfare, affirmative action, etc?

I mean, we've got a REPUBLICAN administration that is loose (to say the least) on fiscal responsibility, increased the size of government more than any in history...and now soft on personal/national responsibility.

It's Bizzarro world, ladies and gents. Bizzarro world!

I mean, the sky isn't red and the earth isn't purple...but don't be surprised if you wake up tomorrow and find it to be so.

On top of that, our Republican governator, here in good ole' California, proposed Universal Healthcare legislation.

Maybe we are looking at politics through the lens of the generation before us, and maybe that lens is defunct now. The idea of Republican and Democrat have changed so much since 2000.

I think more emphasis is now being placed on issues as opposed to party affiliation. Many Republicans have stood up against Bush's "stay the course" and "stay the course + 21,500" plans.

Meh

Absolutely. This is just more proof that my impossible dream ought to be a reality...we ought to dismantle the two party system and install a multi-party coalition-based system.

There are no more white and black, Republiclone and Democrat issues. We live in a world made of shades of grey...millions of them. We ought to start behaving like it...

But...In the end, I have to agree:

Meh
