Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

It's snowing here in Oxford. Evidently our war on christmas isn't doing any good against that festive, white seasonal coating.

Speaking of wars on Xmas . . .

So at a staff meeting last week, our department head announced we would be having a Christmas party. I corrected her and said "Holiday Party". Everyone sort of giggled, because it's the typical PC thing to say, while at the same time acknowledging that it was the right thing to say.

My cubicle mate rolled her eyes and said "Oh gawd, whatever . . . what? YOU don't celebrate Christmas?"

It got awkwardly silent, and she then said "Well people who don't want to celebrate christmas don't have to come"

Since we continued to argue about it for a few days after, management felt it would be better if we "split up". I now have a back corner cubicle with a window.

The lesson to be learned? Only fight Christmas if you can get a better cubicle out of it :)

I bet the sunshine we're having in good ol' San Anto could melt that Christmas ground cover... :)

Yeah, I saw that the weather will be between 40 and 65 while I'm back in Texas for the holidays. I'm bringing my cheetah-print banana hammock to cut back on tan-lines.
